Self-Examine Sundays: Getting to know the REAL you!

today’s topic is all about self-discovery or self-awareness, a habit most avoid because of denial, dissatisfaction and disobedience to the process of learning. Some just hate the truth! Isolation is the best way to interact with your inner thoughts, spending time with yourself, by yourself. However, I would not recommend you to become an extreme introvert and avoid people entirely.

But, sometimes in life it is all about YOU. How you feel? what you need? how you can benefit from all you do? – Knowing who you are is fundamental to how you intend to grow.

Scenario: “Someone approaches you with critique, but has not offended you. Based on the level of stress hidden in your mind you freak out and cause conflict. The individual cannot read your mind and you assume everyone will just somehow understand you.” – So what do you do?

If you avoid gathering and processing your thoughts before interacting with others, what you may do is react based on your emotions. An emotional response is based on the implied and not their inferences. This self-abandonment allows us to become participants of repetitive confrontations that can be avoided, when we don’t neglect what we need.
It goes without saying, “you are what you attract” and for more positive energy you need to become the positive person.

Exercise: Use 20-30 minutes 2x a day, alone. Isolate yourself! Prep in the morning, ask for what you want of the day and wind down in the evening, what has affected your day and what can you change? Air out your thoughts, dig deep and avoid exaggerating small problems.
