Giving up on Brymo was never an option for Amanda. As jobless as Brymo was, Amanda never stopped supporting him. Honestly, they loved each other to the core but somehow, Brymo was always caught cheating. That wasn’t the first or second time. He cheated all the time and almost everytime, Amanda will find out. It became Brymo’s habit.
Aside all his imperfections, he loved
Amanda than any of the girls he has been flaunting around with. Amanda
on the othe hand believed that, if love makes all things perfect, then
there is hope for Brymo and herself They have been dating for three
years now without getting intimate. They both agreed to maintain sex
free relationship until they get married. From the positive side, it
kept their relationship healthy and strong. Brymo’s cheating habit
was what tore the relationship apart.
Amanda felt Brymo was cheating on her because of sex but what confused her most was the fact that Brymo always respected her and her decision. He never forced her, not even on a single occasion. During romance, they both knew when to stop in order to keep the
‘chastity’ promise.
There was this time that Amanda couldn’t control herself but Brymo being a gentleman, found a way of taking her out of it. This made Amanda love him more, but the question was, if Brymo could control himself with over the one he loved most, why couldn’t he stop cheating?
Brymo graduated from the university with a second class upper, yet his luck on getting a job was not successful after his national service. He met Amanda in a public transport
where unfortunately for him, he had lost his wallet.
Amanda was the one who came to his rescue by paying his fare for him. They right away exchanged numbers and their love lives began from there.
Amanda was a cashier in a micro finance. She was good in her field of work. Due to that, she gained the love and respect from his superiors. She however wanted to use this opportunity to recommend Brymo to her human resource manager into employing him.
She gave up on that aspect when the human resource manager demanded for sexual intercourse before he grants her wish.
It came to a point that she had to sacrifice 40% of her salary for Brymo’s up keep since he had nothing on him. This was meant to support him financially. Brymo’s conscience didn’t feel right about this. He felt he owed Amanda for her kind gesture. The least he could do was to make Amanda happy. However, the more he tried to stay faithful, the more he kept on cheating.
Apparently, Amanda had a surprise for Brymo. The moment Brymo had been waiting for had finally arrived. Amanda had gotten a job for Brymo at her work place as an accountant.
She couldn’t believe it until she saw the appointment letter. She was happy for Brymo and quickly set off from work to Brymo’s place to deliver the message. Brymo getting a job as an accountant meant that he was
joining Amanda’s superiors in her chain of command. His salary was going to be 3 times higher than Amanda’s. It was just a breakthrough. She bought champagne from the supermarket just to celebrate the occasion. Upon arriving at Brymo’s apartment, there he was again cheating.
He was caught right in a middle of sex of with Rapha, Amanda’s biological sister. Amanda stood still until Bymo and Rapha noticed her
presence. Instantly, Brymo got up and as naked as he was, knelt right in front of Amanda begging. Rapha got half dressed and immediately left the scene, avoiding any further confrontation. Amanda was choked with words as she didn’t even know what to say or do. She just shed tears as Brymo knelt right before her. Her instincts told her to tear the appointment paper apart and throw it to his face, but what good will that do? She just handed the letter to him while he was kneeling
down. As Brymo begun to read, she left without saying a word or doing anything.
Brymo was filled with joy and guilt at the same time upon reading the letter. He tried going after Amanda after she had left but it was too late. She was far gone.
As Amanda reached home still with tears in her eyes, she saw Rapha sitting at the porch.
She seemed to have been waiting for Amanda to show up. She quickly stood up and went towards Amanda as she was coming towards the porch.
“Amanda, can we talk? please” Rapha asked.
“Are you going to apologize for your actions or what?” Amanda who was still hurt asked.
“Amanda, I’m sorry. I didn’t know what came over me. One thing led to the other and things got to that extreme without even realizing it” said Rapha. “I can’t believe you’re telling me this, that’s enough ok” Amanda said and walked out on her.
Brymo tried calling Amanda for days without any answer. He knew that he would get to see her on his first day at work so he waited patiently.
Rapha, Amanda’s sister was just feeling guilty for what had happened. She wanted to make things right between herself and her sister, however, Amanda had being avoiding her.
Due to this, she decided to see Brymo again and confront him over the issue. She got to Brymo’s place when he was getting ready for his first day at work. Brymo was surprised upon seeing her. He never expected her to, especially with what had happened.
“Rapha, I wasn’t expecting you? Brymo said. I can’t keep hurting my sister this way,” said Rapha. “Come in and sit down for us to talk. I still have more time to get to work” Brymo said, inviting her in to his room.
“You didn’t tell me you have gotten a job? Rapha asked. “Well, it was a sudden news. I have a job as an accountant ” Brymo disclosed. “I’m so happy for you Bymo” Rapha said.” …….anyway, we need to end this, and find a way to make amends. Amanda is
really hurt. She has been avoiding me ever since the incident occurred” she continued.
“Same here, she doesn’t pick my calls” Brymo said. “Brymo, there is something else you should know” Rapha said. “What is it?” asked Brymo. “I’m two months pregnant for you” Rapha disclosed. “What!” Brymo exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Amanda had already reported to work very early and was at the Resource Manager’s office.
“Sir, thank you so much for giving Brymo this chance” said Amanda.” I must say your boyfriend is really lucky”, said the Resource Manager.
“Sir, can we put behind whatever happened. I beg of you.” Amanda said. Before he could answer, a knock came from the door. It
was one of the secretaries. “Sir, the new employee is here” said the secretary.
” That must be your guy?” said the Resource Manager“I’m sure. Sir, let me take leave of you” Amanda said and left. The Resource Manager requested the secretary to ask Brymo to see him at his office immediately. In no time, Brymo showed up. “Good Morning sir” Brymo greeted “Good Morning, you may sit down” said the Resource Manager.
“You are welcome to your new work, and i must say you need to thank your girlfriend for the extreme sacrifice she had to make just to see you get this job,” said the Manager.
“Thank you very much sir. I will also work hard to yield a productive result” said Brymo.
“Mind you, your work here is under strict conditions. That was not stated in your appointment letter” said the Manager.
“Sir please, what conditions? Brymo asked.
” Good question. Your girlfriend and I have gone a very long way so if you want to keep your job, then you must keep your distance,” the manager said.” Sir, i don’t understand” Brymo said. “It’s as simple as that. I’m sure you’re matured enough to read between the lines. What were you thinking when i said
